~I received The Fintastic Fishsitter and Any Fin Possible copies for the purpose of reviewing. Opinions and stories are my own.~
A Big Fat Zombie Goldfish Adventure continues with the very first Zombie Goldfish picture book, THE FINTASTIC FISHSITTER, and (volume 4) in the Zombie Goldfish chapter book series, ANY FIN IS POSSIBLE. These books are based on the true story of the time Mo and her brother resuscitated their childhood goldfish with a AA battery. Really! The Zombie Goldfish series are the perfect chapter books for kids in that 6-10 age range, and the picture book will introduce new readers early so they can grow into the series!
Six Really Important Tips for Fish-Sitting a Zombie Goldfish:
1. Keep Fang away from Frankie
2. Zombie goldfish only eat green food (moldy Brussels sprouts, green jelly beans, stinky pond slime)
3. All kittens can be pretty sneaky but Fang is SUPER sneaky
4. Watch out for Frankie’s eyes—he can hypnotize you
5. Did we mention that Fang the vampire kitten is TROUBLE?
6. Seriously, keep Fang away from Frankie!
When Sami agrees to zombie-sit Frankie, her neighbor’s BIG FAT ZOMBIE GOLDFISH, she is looking forward to fun afternoon in the paddling pool with her favorite “swishy fishy.” Unfortunately, Fang, the mostly-evil vampire kitten, has a different idea. She’s looking forward to a BIG FAT ZOMBIE GOLDFISH snack!
Will Sami and Frankie be able to stop Fang’s evil plan? Come find out in this fin-tastic picture book addition to the New York Times-Bestselling series.
When Tom rescued Frankie the goldfish from his older brother’s evil science experiment by zapping him back to life with a battery, he never expected his pet to become a BIG FAT ZOMBIE GOLDFISH with incredible hypnotic powers…but it’s helpful when they are thwarting his big brother’s evil plans.
Tom and Pradeep are about to find out the truth behind the ancient Egyption Curse of the Cat King, when their evil big brothers crash their overnight stay at the history museum. Dodging booby traps, avoiding evil, possibly mummified kittens…it’s all in a night’s work for a zombie goldfish!
Then, there’s something fishy going on at sports day. All the athletic kids seem to be losing their sporting abilities, while Tom’s evil big brother Mark has suddenly become amazing at every single sport. Can Frankie help Pradeep and Tom to foil Mark’s evil plans? Or will Mark and his pet vampire kitten, Fang, take home the gold?
The picture book is really funny and perfect for kids still not old enough or really into chapter books. Sami is given a specific set of instructions to fishsit a pet zombie goldfish. The most important rule is to keep the zombie goldfish away from the vampire cat but that is no easy task! The illustrations are just as great as the story and even reluctant readers will enjoy this book! I will admit that volume 4 of the chapter book series was the first one I read but my 7 year old and myself had no problem catching on to what was going on. It has two stories in this one bound book. We immediately got hooked on the story and the characters and we will for sure be going back to read the other volumes. The first stoy is about the Egyptian Curse of the Cat and the other is about sports day at school. These two books are definitely a hit in my house and I really enjoy them too. Absolutely fabulous for boys, reluctant readers and fans of goldfish and of course zombies.
