For more than 20 years, Annie’s has been nourishing families with simple, down-to-earth foods that taste great and are easy to love. Annie’s is driven by a team of folks who are passionate about food, people, and the planet we all share. That’s why we’ve sought out the best ingredients Mother Earth has to offer, harvesting pure, natural flavors to make delicious foods every family can feel good about.
Honest-to-goodness goodness is cooked up here.
Pizza Friday (or P – I – Z – Z – A day) has been a tradition in our home since my youngest could eat regular food. We all love pizza, but we stick to once a week to indulge ourselves in the delight of thick crust melted over with cheese and yummy tomato sauce. Mostly fortunate (and sometimes less so) we begin to consider exactly what we are actually feeding our children when it comes to these indulgences. It wouldn’t be so bad being once a week, however, even then… do you realize what exactly goes into a non-organic pizza?
“My three roles as mom, organic grower, and “Annie” are very much intertwined. At Annie’s, we make our products with real ingredients, all found in nature—no artificial anything—and are honored that our loyal friends and customers continue to invite us to share in their family meal time.” –Annie Withey
You can really tell that she, and the many others in the Annie business, are really passionate about their purpose, their values and their company.
So that decided it for me on trying Annie’s New Organic Rising Crust Pizza. It was closing in on a Friday and I’ve been growing more aware of what is being served on the table at mealtimes, then there came this opportunity to try something new – incorporating a natural healthy pizza into P – I – Z – Z – A day. I know many of you think, “Why not just make your own organic pizza?” But really, the entire point of having a Friday Pizza night for me is so I don’t have to cook! However, laziness doesn’t essentially mean that I get a vacation from being a Mom that really wants good food. Annies Pizza’s are:
- Certified organic
- Naturally rising crust made with 8g of whole grains
- Organic meats with no added nitrites or nitrates*
- 100% real cheese
- Generous 11.5″ family size pizzas
Say please for Organic Four Cheese! This pizza offers a delicious combination of mozzarella, provolone, parmesan and romano cheeses. Each bite blends creamy cheese with savory tomato sauce over a whole wheat crust. Leftovers? I don’t think so.
A very wonderful and delicious surprise and by far one of the best ‘take-home’ pizza’s from the supermarket. Annie’s Organic Rising Crust Pizza is only available currently at Whole Foods, but it’s worth the trip to get it! Plus, Annie’s has many other products available there such as salad dressing in Vegan and Gluten Free (which goes great with a salad), granola bars and fruit snacks which would pair up nicely for a snack. This one pizza introduced me to many other products I hadn’t thought of and I believe that is how it all begins – through one good food to another.
So here we are approaching another Friday, another P – I – Z – Z – A day and I wanted to share with you the experience of trying a great pizza made from wholesome natural products that will come out smelling fresh, extra cheesy and with that delicious golden thick crust that is great for dipping.
