Yesterday my sweet babies had to go and get some ouchies. I felt so bad for both of them!
My sweet baby girl had to get her two month shots 🙁 two shots in one leg and one shot in the other along with a drink. These shots include: the Hep B, Polio, Diphtheria, Tetanus & Pertussis, Hib, Pneumococcal and Rotavirus. My poor baby girl’s legs are sore today but overall she did really well during her visit. She is currently weighing in at 9 pounds 5 ounces and is 21.5 inches long….Way to Grow Sweet Girl!
I have been keeping a close eye on her, looking out for those side effects. Such as tenderness, redness, or swelling where the shots were given. So far so good and NO mild fever! No complaints here, she is still her smiling happy girl self! There are always a risk of allergic reactions so I just keep a close eye on my child and well educate myself of the vaccines and what they are for.
My little man had to get his routine blood draw for a medication that he has been taking for two years now. It is for extreme pulmonary hypertension and can cause liver failure so a monthly blood draw is due. He also received his yearly Flu Shot, something we decided years ago that is essential for him during the winter months.
It’s that time of year again, COLD/FLU season is officially here! We do not look forward to this time of year here at our home. So we always go that extra mile for my little man and now my newborn to take preventative measures. We always have a note posted on our door making our guest aware that they need to wash and hand sanitize their hands upon entering and if they have been sick or anyone in their household sick, please do not enter ours. This really has helped in keeping my little man out of the hospital and away from those dreaded doctor visits after doctor visits. Not to mention that everyone of our family and friends are always aware and understandable when it comes to this! I love, appreciate and thank them all! For instance we were invited to Manda’s little boys birthday party and she always lets me know if they have been sick or not. (haha) So at the end of her message she puts “and we are not sick.” This is so sweet and so automatic of her, she is always looking out for her little buddy.
So just a reminder Flu shots are available everywhere now for those of you that get one. I see signs posted up at Wal-Mart, Walgreens, Doctor offices and I am sure at your local Health Department. You can also go online and check for your nearest Flu Shot provider. I know that one year here in the town I live in they provided them down at the Senior Center for free.
On an End Note no more Ouchies for my sweet kiddo’s for a little while atleast. I love it when they are smiling, happy and lovey dovey. It breaks my heart when mommy has to smooch the boo boo but as we all know mommies smooches make it all better.
