~This post is sponsored by Master Lock and I received a complimentary Master Lock 5900D SafeSpace in order to facilitate this review. Opinions and stories are 100% my own.~
I have been in full on back-to-school prepping in my home for the last few weeks. School starts early here and in less than 10 days my two boys will be waltzing back into the hallways of high-school and early education. My tot is the easiest to prepare for as he absolutely loves school and doesn’t actually have to bring anything to and fro. His school supply list is pretty minor since he’s still preschool, but there are always things to remember that are important for safety. Here is a list that I always check off for my tot!
My teen, on the other hand, is a Sophomore and we’ve had a bit of trouble last year with theft of his gym clothes. He also had to start carrying all his things in his bookbag due to concerns of theft from his locker partner. Because of this, he was completely disorganized and it affected his grades. So this year we wanted to make sure he could be organized and not worry about his things being stolen. Here is the little checklist I made for him.
We have a few Master Lock locks for his lockers. One is the Master Lock 1500iD Speed Dial Combination Lock that I purchased myself off of Amazon for $6.99. It works by using a combination of movements, such as: Left Right Down Up, etc. Knowing my son would love the old gamer idea of using directionals for special moves (though this time for a combination) I figured it would be easier than your typical old school lock. Plus, it would be a lot harder for someone to get into his locker without knowing his personal sequence!
Because he might share a locker again, I wanted to make sure his things were protected from any locker mates. I would hope that one could trust any peer, but I also live in North County St. Louis and am pretty realistic about the incident levels at the school. I was given a Master Lock 5900D SafeSpace for this review and thought it was perfect! He could keep his cellphone, important papers and other small things inside the SafeSpace inside of his locker!
The really nice thing about it is that he can simply lock it onto his bike or bookbag on the way home as well, this way his things are also secure on his walk. The SafeSpace is very light and portable and also has shock absorbency foam on the inside to make sure that if it does happen to fall, that your items are still protected.
In all honestly, this would be great for taking with you when you leave the house for any extended time: traveling, gym days, work or going to the spa. There are so many places we simply trust to leave our things sitting out on a table or in a flimsy locker, it never hurts to make sure your identity and your personal belongings stay yours.
There are also many other products from Master Lock that could be helpful for the school year, such as:
- Bike Locks
- Backpack Locks
- Vehicle Security
