~I received a Bananagrams WildTiles sample for the purpose of reviewing. Opinions and stories are my own.~
I really love games and in my house Thursday nights are family game night. We sit around as a family and play a child friendly board game after dinner and bath. Then when the kids go to sleep my Husband and I usually play a board game that is above their skill level. Some of my favorite games get my heart pumping and really bring out my competitive side. Bananagrams WildTiles from Bananagrams, Inc. is definitely on the wild side of fun and my Husband and I felt like kids again while playing it!
WildTiles is exclusively at Target and Target.com. The game includes six monkey WildTiles putting an all-new spin on the original Bananagrams racing crossword game. Now, with Bananagrams WildTiles, as players race to complete their grids, they can pick up a WildTile and play it as many times as needed, standing in for any letter.
Check it out in action!
You start by placing all 150 tiles face down in the center of the table. Based on the number of active players you each randomly select the correct number of tiles. You can play anywhere from 2-8 players. To win you have to be the first person to use all of your letters in a word grid. You each work on your own grids at the exact same time so it is all about speed. The monkey WildTiles can be used as any letter the player chooses. When a player has used all their tiles they yell out “Peel” and all players must take a tile from the bunch to then try and add into their own grid. You can discard unwanted tiles back into the bunch but then you have to take 3 in its place. You have to shout “BANANAS” to win!
This game is extremely fast paced and for ages 7 and up so we played this after the kids went to sleep. I am the type to connect a bunch of smaller words together because in the moment my mind goes blank! Husband likes to start out with a big word and work from there and his way does look much easier. Just to brag I won our first few games so who knows maybe my method works.
Bananagrams is currently available in 31 countries and multiple languages and the original has also spawned a series of books. Bananagrams, Inc. also offers the games Appletters, Pairs in Pears, ZIP-IT, and Fruitominoes as well as Jumbo Bananagrams and Jumbo Zip-it.
Bananagrams WildTiles is available exclusively at Target stores and on Target.com. The WildTiles really change up the pace of the game and I think it helps me out when I am stuck with a few letters I can’t combine. I can’t wait till my oldest is ready to play the game with us. Until then my husband and I will just have to have our super competitive games all to ourselves.
