Sugar and spice and everything nice, that’s what this recipe is made of! I whipped up this candied nuts recipe for my husband as a gift for Valentine’s Day. I hope you love it too!
- 1 Cup Walnut Halves
- 1 Cup Pecan Halves
- 1 Cup Almonds
- 1 Cup Craisins
- 1 Cup Hazelnuts
- 1 Cup Crazens
- 1 Tsp Salt
- 1/2 Tsp Black Pepper
- 1/4 Tsp Cumin
- 1/8 Tsp Cayenne Pepper
- 1/2 Cup White Sugar
- 1/4 Cup Water
- 1 Tbsp Unsalted Butter
Preheat your oven to 350′. Lightly coat a baking sheet with cooking spray and set it to the side. Line another baking sheet (or a table) with wax paper.
Combine all the nuts in a large bowl and add the Craisins, salt, pepper, cumin and cayenne pepper. Mix until coated well.
I personally used a bowl with a lid so I could shake it up!
Once your mix is well coated, add your water, sugar and butter in a sauce pan and cook over medium heat. Once the butter is melted, cook for 1 minute more and then pour the mixture into the nut mix. Stir (or shake!) until it is well coated.
Pour the nut mixture onto the baking sheet and bake in the oven for 10 minutes on each side. Once you’re finished, take the mixture out and spread it out onto your lined wax paper to cool. It’s very delicious when it’s hot, but you want to wait until it hardens up a little!
It’s ready to package (or stick in a bowl for a party!) once the mixture has set. It can still be a little sticky, but you won’t hear anyone complain once they’ve tried them! I love, love, love this recipe. It can make a beautiful centerpiece snack at any upcoming festivities! Enjoy!
