“Earth! Fire! Wind! Water! Heart! By your powers combined, I am Captain Planet!”

This is something that my brother and I would go around the house yelling as our imaginations allowed us to be apart of Captain Planet and his Planeteers. Holding our rings high in the air above our heads pledging to keep those eco-villains from polluting our Earth!

Having the joy of receiving this review and sharing this with my own children made me so happy. It was great teaching my kids to preserve the Earth’s resources in a super hero way! Their school is doing a great job of teaching them to Reduce-Reuse-Recycle and these are very important lessons for our young generations. I had the joy and entertainment of Captain Planet and the Planeteers to teach me the importance of becoming eco-friendly as a child and now so will they. This is a perfect way to share Earth Month (April) with your own children.

Captain Planet

Captain Planet and the Planeteers: Season One offers animation and storytelling with some of the biggest names in Hollywood and video games, including David Coburn (Captain Planet), James Coburn (Looten Plunder), Janice Kawaye (GI), Scott Menville (Mai-Ti), Frank Welker (Suchi), Meg Ryan (Dr. Blight), Martin Sheen (Sly Sluge) Whoopi Goldberg (Gaia), Jeff Goldblum (Verminous Skum), Sting (Zarm), and many more. This acclaimed animated series motivates today’s youth to get involved in saving our planet and explores the profound impact of environmental activism, and relating it to issues that face all of us today.

As my kids go through each episode words of Captain Planet emerge from their mouths, “The Power is yours!” and  “Go Planet!” Captain Planet and the Planeteers work together to prevent the eco-villains from looting and polluting the Earth’s resources. Once the problem is under control, Captain Planet returns to the Earth, leaving this message for the Planeteers everywhere– “The power is yours!” Each episode ends with a 30 second tag including tips on how people can be a part of the solution. A learning experience packed with fun that every child should have.

Captain Planet and the Planeteers: Season One will be available for home entertainment for the first time April 19, 2011. Join the action with all 26 adventurous episodes and exciting bonus features in an eco-friendly packaged 4 DVD box set. Something that the whole family will love!

You can pre-order Captain Planet and the Planeteers: Season One for $18.99 on Amazon.
