Last week I took some time aside to do something that I have been needing to do for quite some time now. re-paper my kitchen drawers,. Since my husband has been DIY home remodeling our kitchen for me (Phase 1 and Phase 2 that I have posted previously for you) I thought that I would do a little as well. I may have chosen the extremely easy part to do but hey, I called it first! 😉
So I just went onto Amazon and ordered some contact paper, you know the paper that is sticky on one side and has many different patterns to choose from on the other side. I picked out a black and white pattern, don’t ask me why, I just found it pretty and I seemed to like it better than the other pattern that I seen on there.
First steps first, I emptied out my drawer, one drawer at a time so I didn’t get ahead of myself. Cleaned out the drawer from any debris or dirt that was in the bottom of it. Cut my paper to size, I did leave a little extra on all sides so that I could overlap and not have to worry about the piece not fitting and having gaps between creases. One drawer seemed to take me about 30 minutes of so from start to finish and I must say, I just love the end result.
Don’t be afraid to tackle on small jobs around the house, the feeling of change can be so nice! Knowing that you did it yourself and looking at your pretty accomplishments are so worth the time and effort! I still need to do the cabinet shelves, I will get them done before summer is here… maybe. 🙂
