Judah and I have been whipping up some easy Halloween treats for kids that even tots can make all by themselves! I had gotten the idea for the Banana Ghosts, Creepy Teeth and Spider Crackers (featured on Outnumbered 3 to 1) from a show we saw on Hoopla. Although we changed the Creepy Teeth to make them healthier. Judah was so excited making them that I know your kids will too!
On the show they had used a Hazelnut spread and red icing. We modified this one to be a healthier snack.
What You Need:
- 1 Apple (sliced)
- Peanut Butter
- Strawberry Jelly
Spread peanut butter on the thickest part of the apple slices. Then take the marshmallows and (on ONE slice) place them in a row.
Once the marshmallows are set in a row, spread jelly a little messily on top of the marshmallows.
Then you can add the second apple slice to the top!
Now you should have some super creepy teeth for snack time! Just watch out for those sneaky fingers trying to steal all the marshmallows.
What You Need:
- 1 Banana (makes 4 sticks)
- Vanilla Almond Bark (or white chocolate)
- Black Icing (for the eyes/mouth)
- Popsicle Sticks
- Wax Paper
You approximately need 2 squares of Almond Bark per banana. If you are using White Chocolate then just estimate enough to cover. Melt the Almond Bark in a bowl and set to the side.
Slice the banana in half and then length wise until you have 4 slices.
Slide a popscicle stick into the banana slice and then dip it in the vanilla Almond Bark, coating it on both sides.
Once they are coated, set them on a plate that is covered in wax paper (so they won’t stick) and place them in the freezer until they are hardened.
Once they are hard, you can remove them and put on your spooky faces!
