Pompeian and Hungry Girl are having a contest for a chance to be Featured at BlogHer Food this year! I was sent some really great oils to perfect a recipe (which I am currently working on) and I wanted to share the opportunity with other Bloggers before time ran out. The contest is open until April 30th, next Tuesday, so make sure you get your cookin’ on!
Pompeian is a leader in Olive Oil and I really love their App that shows you how you can convert Butter to Olive Oil in your recipes! But one of the featured Oils of Recipes Re-imagined is Grapeseed Oil. It’s not something I see a lot in recipes, but I love to use it for its light flavor. It’s not as strong as Olive Oil and it also is packed with Vitamin E and antioxidants. You can use it for the same things as you do Olive Oil Baking or Sauteing, but you can also use it to FRY! You can really tell a difference too, since it is so light. It has a really high smoke point as well, which makes it great to use for fried foods.
You can see the Smoke Point of Pompeian’s Grapeseed Oil as well as their others in comparison in their shop. I’m going to be using the Grapeseed Oil for my new recipe as well as another new product, Pompeian’s OlivExtra® Premium Mediterranean Blend. This is great because it not only includes Grapeseed Oil, but also Extra Virgin Olive Oil AND Canola Oil! So you get the benefit of essential Omega-3 and Omega-6, monounsaturated fat, and Vitamin E Antioxidants. It can be used as a replacement for any dish that you use either of the oils on, but gives you the rich blend of flavors.
I am hoping to share my recipe really soon! I have to meet the deadline myself, but after that I will share with you how I re-imagined my own recipes using Pompeian’s super packed Oils!
You can enter the contest on Pompeian’s Facebook Page! Good luck to everyone!
I was given oils to create a recipe of my own and to promote this amazing contest. Opinions are my own and are not influenced by any form of compensation.
