This past weekend we were celebrating our last summer days before Kindergarten started. Tot and I made Cherry Oatmeal Cookies because he’s obsessed with Stoneridge Orchards dried fruits ever since they showed up for review. The cookies turned out beyond delicious, so much that I had to share them!
- 3/4 cup of Softened Butter (1 1/2 sticks)
- 3/4 cup of White Sugar
- 3/4 cup of Brown Sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 1 Teaspoon of Vanilla
- 1 1/2 cups of Flour
- 1 Tsp of Baking Soda
- 1 Tsp of Baking Powder
- 3/4 Tsp of Cinnamon
- 1/2 Tsp of Salt
- 2 3/4 cups of Rolled Oats
- 1 Cup of Stoneridge Orchard Dried Cherries
Preheat the Oven to 350′.
Blend together the softened butter and sugar until mixed well; add in the Eggs and Vanilla until somewhat fluffy.
In another bowl, stir together the Flour, Baking Soda, Baking Powder, Cinnamon and Salt. Then slowly pour the dry mixture into the butter/sugar bowl and mix, mix, mix. Once ready, pour in the Rolled Oats a little bit at a time and then add the Cherries.
Drop by Tablespoon full (or a big spoon full) onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 12 minutes and let cool on a wire rack.
I so love these cookies. I don’t know why I never thought to try mixing up Oatmeal cookies with other dried fruits! It’s genius! It’s been a few days since we made them and they are still just as soft and yummy as they were right from the oven. I just keep them in baggy’s so they don’t dry out.
Let us know if you try out the recipe and what you thought!
