~I received a Curious George screener and samples for the purpose of reviewing. Opinions and stories are my own.~
The hit PBS show, Curious George, continues with an all new episode full of love and curiosity on Monday, February 9, 2015 (check your local listings). I always enjoy reading Curious George books to my girls and they think it is extra fun to watch him on television. He is definitely one cute monkey!
This new adventure, Happy Valentine’s Day, George!, has us watching our favorite monkey as he wants to make his friends the best Valentine’s Day cards ever. The problem is even with four paws, it takes a long time to create homemade cards for everyone. Using sponge shapes, red paint, and a waffle iron, George creates the first ever monkey Valentine’s printing press!
Check out this activity sheet with instructions on how you and your kids can make your own Valentine’s Day cards like George does in the episode.
Don’t forget to check out one of the many Curious George books. You can never read too much to your kids! Happy Valentine’s Day, Curious George! is adorable because it has fun flaps for young ones to flip out. My youngest has always been one to really love lift-flap books.
The great part about this show is that it stays true to the original books. A super curious monkey, the man with the yellow hat and the silly adventures that George gets into. He always finds his way out of mischief by the show’s end and with a little critical thinking of course. The show focuses on teaching preschoolers about science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) concepts, as well as use of the five senses (smell, taste, hearing, touch, and sight). The stories are fun and enjoyable to watch. PBS truly focuses on quality children’s programming. George is a cute little monkey with a really big heart.
