~Thank you to Depend for sponsoring today’s post about the #dropyourpants for #underwareness movement.~
If I told you that dropping your pants for $1 was for a good cause, would you do it? What if I told you that your contribution (that equals $1) could help add up to the $3 million for charities that advance the research, education and awareness of bladder leakage over the next three years? Depend seeks to end the stigma on generations of people who have these issues (not just older people); which I see as just an extension of being body positive.
I had my first son when I was really very young and afterward my body bounced right back into shape as if nothing happened. It was as if I was given a free pass for having sacrificed my teens and early twenties. I wasn’t so lucky with my second. My body kind of decided to go on the outs. During birth there were some complications that led to my pelvis being twisted; which made it very difficult for me to strengthen womanly areas. This all led to some embarrassing moments that most of us moms face after multiple children. There’s a reason why we say, “Don’t make me laugh!” and it isn’t because we don’t like jokes.
I take this small amount of embarrassment that I had for a few years after Tot and I imagine what it would be like to constantly live with that. Thankfully we are living in a time when Depends products are available in so many natural styles with trusted protection. There is no reason to feel ashamed about utilizing a product that helps you live a fulfilling life! Is that not what we all look for? We buy volumizing products for our hair to make it less thin, tinted lotions to make us look less pale, padded bras to make us feel better when putting on cleavage shirts and so on. What’s the difference?
I decided to help be a part of the solution. After all, I’ve been there! So, you want to know how you can put your $1 into the pot? Visit #Underwareness, check out the videos and stories and why this campaign is so important to millions of people. Then find a unique way to share your photo! Here’s what they’re looking for:
- Every pant drop, photo and video shared Using #Underwareness and #DropYourPants
- Every personal video made about what Underwareness means to you that is uploaded to YouTube and tagged #Underwareness and #DropYourPants
You can also help by just sharing the campaign and getting the word out there to those of your friends and family members! If you happen to have a bladder leakage problem, or someone you know and care about does, you can also pick up a free sample.
Many thanks to Depend for all that they are doing to support the millions of people out there facing bladder issues and offering them a way to #dropyourpants and dance.
