My family is counting down the days til our return trip to Walt Disney World. I am starting to get Disney Fever! I decided for our next travel spotlight I would feature Anaheim, California and look back on my trip to Disneyland so many years ago.
I used to competitively figure skate and one of my last competitions took place in Anaheim. We made a trip out of it and my mom and brother went along as well as my husband, at the time we were dating.
Now you can’t visit the area without stopping at Disneyland! At least my family couldn’t! We went almost 10 years ago and only visited Disneyland and not Disney’s California Adventure Park, hopefully next time we will have time for both. The good news is Disney’s California Adventure Park has expanded and added a whole new world called Cars Land from the movie CARS. This is something I must see! From what I’ve read and the pictures I’ve seen it is like you are right in the middle of Radiator Springs and with a 5 year old son that would be his dream come true! Cars Land features a pretty neat looking ride called Radiator Springs Racers in which you ride in a classic car and travel thru Radiator Springs at night and come across obstacles along the way.
There is other great things in the area besides Disney if you are not a big Disney fan. We also visited Sea World San Diego while we were there, it was a short drive away. Sea World is great because they have the sea animals to see with great shows but they also have some fun rides, like the Manta Double Launch Roller Coaster, which I believe is newer because I don’t remember seeing it when we were there. I know when I think of Sea World I don’t think of roller coasters so I wanted to make sure to mention it for those that just think it is a animal place. I included a clip of the coaster because I so want to go back and ride this!
