On June 23rd & 24th there is going to be a wonderful Hispanic Festival in Florissant (aka St. Louis, MO)! I’m pretty excited as this is happening the day after my birthday and there is nothing that I love more than listening to Latin guitar, eating homemade enchiladas and sipping on sweet margaritas. Here I come!
This colorful event will feature folkoric dance groups of children and adults from Mexico, Chile, Spain and other various countries. Live Latino bands will play throughout each day including Salsa Bands, Merengue Bands, Spanish Rock and Mexican Rock. Salas lessons will also be available.
There will be a wide variety of foods and beverages from Latin and South America such as tacos, empanadas, pan dulce and Bolivian Shish-ka-bobs. Expect to quench your thirst with Jose Cuervo margaritas and Miller beer products.
There will also be lots of shops featuring folk art and crafts from Ecuador and Guatemala, 50 booths, giveaways and a children’s pavilion that will have Dora and Diego!!
Admission is Free, Parking is Free and a portion of all the funds will go to Scholarships for College bound students and underprivileged children and their families.
I wouldn’t be here if my Great Grandfather didn’t decide to move here from Mexico and marry my Great Grandmother. I have a deep love for my Gramma’s culture and where we came from. I hope those of you that are local come out and join in the festivities! It looks to be an incredible amount of fun for the whole family!
