It’s been a roller coaster these last few months. My husband went from being laid off to having a job where he was working 16+ hours a day to being laid off again and (just in the past 4 days) being employed again. In his previous job he was on a shift change where he’d work the first week days, the second week third shift and the third week second shift and all with mandatory overtime. Needless-to-say we were all off of our schedules. My husband being the person who generally keeps a bit of order around here, was being tossed in a chaotic fray and everything went with it.
Being a Stay-at-Home mom isn’t what a lot of people imagine. I mean, I imagined I’d have all this time when my tot was in preschool and my teen was back in high-school and then reality hit me. I have what I call ‘pockets’ of time, these few and far between hours in which I have to make a choice between keeping up with my house, my blog (job), necessary shopping or showering; sleep is in there somewhere I’m sure. Unfortunately, a lot of times the projects in my house are what gets put off the most and… well let’s just say it added up.
Fast-forward and we’re in the midst of the Holiday’s. Somewhere in one of those totes is our Thanksgiving and Christmas stuff. It may not even be one of these totes, it could be one of the 8 totes you don’t see in the photo because they’re in these ‘wall nooks’ . None of them are actually organized either, they’re just these big blue totes that we stuffed things in when we moved in January. It was on my list of to-dos to organize them and get rid of whatever was unnecessary, but now it’s November!
I really needed something to push me and when I was offered the chance to re-organize as an Ambassador to Brother P-Touch, I took the challenge! It gets really serious when you have no idea where your Christmas stuff is and it’s almost Thanksgiving.
This wonderful little tool is going to help me organize things. I have lots of totes, baskets and boxes without any idea of what is in them. I also have this uncanny way of cleaning things and then no one else knows where anything is! I’m hoping the Brother P-Touch will bring sanity to our little world of chaos and help teach me to be a little more organized.
So my project this weekend is to de-clutter our closets (yes, there are more!) and find our Christmas things before it’s too late! (Yes, I am being dramatic.) Most importantly, it’ll open up some more space in our home that doesn’t have a basement, I can find all those items I wanted to donate to families for the Holiday’s and my husband will stop giving me that look whenever he opens the closet.
I wrote this review while participating in a campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Brother P-Touch and received a product sample to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.
