Thanks to a Facebook friend finding this awesome activity, over the weekend me and my kids decided to do this fun kids activity! Making these glow jars were so much fun to do and watch being made. Even my oldest who is 13 years old didn’t mind having his own glow jar! I let him pick out his own glow stick color so I think that helped 🙂
- Mason jar
- Glow stick (any color looks great as you can see)
- Diamond glitter
- We also decorated our jars with fun stickers, Batman and Joker stickers for the boys and Fairy stickers for my daughter. I also added a square-cut piece of fabric for the lid just to decorate it up a bit. All this is optional and it still looks great without!
Break your glow stick so that it is glowing.
Very carefully cut one end of the glow stick open.
Drain contents of glow stick into your mason jar.
Add you diamond glitter.
Put top onto jar and shake hard.
The pictures just don’t do them justice! They are so pretty in person, my camera doesn’t show the diamond glitter like I wish it would. The jars just sparkle with glitter and glycine with such pretty color.
It was so nice outside that the kids were able to take their glow jars outside with them and enjoy their glow in the dark fun. I had fun doing this fun kids activity with my kids and I know that you will enjoy it too! Have fun and love being creative!
