ThinkGeek is one of the most incredible stores I’ve come across online in the last few years. Of course I found it through a horde of my geek friends who have been stocking their toys in their offices. You’d think people work in offices but sometimes I really wonder if they mostly just shoot each other with Nerf guns and annoy each other with little beeping gadgets like the Annoy-a-tron. Having spent years in an office myself, I suppose it is the best way to keep from going mad inside of a cubicle.

Every Christmas I shop at ThinkGeek so of course I wanted them to be a part of the Holiday Event and I am incredibly honored that they said yes. My teens wishlist is always found there and he covets the magazines that come in the mail as if they were holy scrolls, even my Mother shops there. If you are looking for something unforgettable and unique, you will never go wrong with shopping at ThinkGeek for gifts.

Geek Points

Plus you get Geek Points! Each item purchased comes with a certain number of points and when you get enough points you can trade them in on your next purchase for free items. Last year I got Grown Your Own Worlds Hottest DIY Pepper and Shower Shock Caffeinated Soap for free! These were absolutely perfect Stocking Stuffers for my husband who loves the Shower Shock soap and hot peppers.

I was given a chance to review four items from ThinkGeek, but in this review I will showcase two of them and then show the others next time. The first item I was given to review was H2Goo – Bathtime Fun, it turns water into safe and non-toxic colorful gel.

H2Goo

I couldn’t really get my toddler in the bath but Cody LOVED it. Love with capital letters, he had so much fun sitting in a bathtub of Goo that it’s kind of hilarious.

  • For Ages 5 and Up
  • Turns bath water into colorful gel for a tub full of fun
  • Special powder soaks up 400 times its weight
  • Won’t clog pipes, stain fixtures, linens, or kids
  • Safe and non-toxic – actually softens skin!
  • Includes 1 packet of goo, 1 packet of dissolver
  • Choose: Red, Pink, Blue, or Green Goo
It was very simple to make the H2Goo, there are instructions included. I would just make a note to make sure you pay attention to the amounts of water. Cody messed up the first time and had too much water which made it more like little chunks of Goo floating in water instead of a Bathtub of gel fun. We made another and was sure to go by the exact amounts of water.

Using H2Goo is simple. Fill the bathtub with water. Add your child(ren). Pour in the packet of magic powder. It will soak up 400x its weight, turning the water into a colorful and gooey gel. It’s safe, non-toxic, and actually makes skin softer! Best of all, parental units, H2Goo will not stain fixtures, towels, or kids. When bath time is done, add the included dissolver powder and the goo will disappear, reverting back to plain bath water.

It is easy to dissolve, you just spread the dissolver on top of the bath and within minutes it turns back into water! It’s really amazing actually. I wouldn’t have believed it (having seen the tub of Goo after) until I saw it with my own eyes. Remarkable science and wonderful fun to teach kids how it works!
MeteorLight LED Ball

The next item I reviewed was a K9 MeteorLight LED Ball. I have to admit that I did not get this ball for a K9 furry friend. I got this ball for my son Judah who loves balls and bright colors and the two together was just great! He was so excited just to hold it and watch it change color and he’d shout out the colors one by one as they changed. I’m sure that a K9 furry friend would love this ball, but for me… I think it would make a great Stocking Stuffer for little tots who want a magic ball!

  • A durable, color changing ball for your doggies and you to play with.
  • Made of extra durable rubber for fun dog play (but not to be used as a chew toy).
  • Water resistant ball – hey, it floats!
  • Micro chip controlled LED cycles through the color spectrum.
  • Batteries: 2 x DL2016 (included)
  • Dimensions: 2.55″ diameter
I thought I would also tell you about a few other great Stocking Stuffers while we’re on the topic. I purchased these last year for Christmas for my husband and my son Cody, both of which became absolute favorites that morning. Sometimes it’s the little things that are the most special.
Adams Cube
For Billie I got the Adams Cube, a beautiful puzzle with architectural roots. My husband loves architecture and puzzles so the two ideas together created something wonderful. I did find it amusing that I beat the puzzle first, but eventually over time we all beat the puzzle. We’re looking at more complicated ones this year!
Gears of War
Cody is a Gamer, so some of you might get this and some might not. These are Gears of War Cog Tags: PROPERTY OF THE COALITION OF ORDERED GOVERNMENT; just like the characters wear in Gears of War, which was an extremely Hott Game last year when Gears of War 3 Debuted for the Holidays. They’re solid metal and very weighty and realistic in the way that they look used and beaten. To say this was his favorite gift would be an understatement. I became the coolest Mom in the Universe last Christmas all over an $8.99 necklace, which was a lot cheaper than the actual game.

There are many, many great ideas on ThinkGeek and as the Holidays come nearer they do their own Gift Categories with lots of Deals. You can always use the Tactical Gift Finder for difficult to shop for people as well. Make sure you sign up for their Newsletter, they’re extremely funny and always have fantastic deals. They also keep you up to date on your GeekPoints and wants new to offer!
