~I received a sample from FunBites for the purpose of reviewing. Opinions and stories are my own.~
I am seriously in a state of shock that my oldest is starting kindergarten in less than 2 weeks. I have her uniforms ready to go but I am still trying to get mentally prepared for her to be gone for a majority of the day. From 8 to 2:30 she is under their care. She is extremely outgoing and loves school so I am not worried about her but I do want to do all that I can to ensure she enjoys her time at school. The one thing I can do is pack fun and nutritious lunches that she actually enjoys eating. I find the easiest way for my uncreative self to do that is with FunBites food cutters.
They are made in the USA, BPA free and even better is that they are Mom invented. The green and yellow Squares cuts 12 perfect squares, pink and red hearts designs a big heart out of 10 geometric shapes, and orange and blue triangles makes 10 bite-sized triangles. The FunBites gang includes Eddie the Explorer, Jackie the Dreamer, Harry the Hungry, Dylan the Chef, Peter the Picky and Lola the Princess.
Each FunBites set comes with a curved blade cutter to cut through any food and a matching popper top to pop out the bite-sized pieces. Unfortunately I am not one of those fun and creative bento box moms. I want to be but I need to start slow. I use small plastic containers to hold her food. She thinks it is fun to eat watermelon, cheese, pizza, cantaloupe, deli sandwiches and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches cut up into little shapes. I like that the sandwiches are easier to pack in a small container with bite size pieces instead of one large container for a full sized and un-cut sandwich.
While my oldest is in school I can still use FunBites to make fun lunches for my toddler at home too. I am not the most creative mom but my girls love it when I make designs on their plates for lunch. It always puts a smile on their faces and ultimately mine too.
Right now you can use the coupon code BTSFun (back to school fun) which is good for 20% off orders on their site. This is the perfect time to get a few different shapes so that you can change up the designs to keep the lunches fun and interesting all school year long.
