Get a Gift/Give a Gift – Headbands of Hope Review

Headbands of Hope Logo

Growing up I always loved playing with dolls. I dreamt of the day I’d have a little girl and be able to dress her up and put pretty bows in her hair. That day finally came and I have a beautiful 2 year old little girl. She is very girly too! She loves her dresses, bows, purses, and shoes!

I want to introduce to you a wonderful organization, Headbands of Hope. Jessica Ekstrom came up with this idea after an internship with the Make-A-Wish Foundation and meeting several young girls with cancer. She realized how much losing their hair affected their self-esteem and confidence. She wanted to give them something to make them smile when they looked in the mirror. That is how Headbands of Hope came to be.

Not only do they make stylish headbands but each time a headband is purchased, Headbands of Hope sends a headband to a girl with cancer and for the sale of each headband $1 is donated to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation to fund life-saving childhood cancer research.

I received one of the Classic Shabby style Headbands to try out in plum color. The band part is very soft and stretchy elastic. The chiffon flowers are attached to the headband and backed with felt for added security and comfort. Flower cluster measures about 3 inches in diameter and the band is 5/8 of an inch. The headbands come in Child/Baby and are 15 inches around and Adult which is 18 inches around.

My daughter wanted hers on right away, as I said she loves all things girly! I really liked it though because it is very soft and doesn’t pull or pinch her anywhere. While she does like girly things she is pretty particular about what you put in her hair. She doesn’t like anything tight or anything pulling at her hair. These headbands are so soft and stretchy I think she actually forgot it was on after a while.

Headbands of Hope has a pretty nice selection as well. They have 7 different styles and a bunch of different colors. I love the beaded ones they will look great with those pretty dresses this holiday season.

If you are looking for something special for a little princess in your life be sure to head over to Headbands of Hope. These pretty headbands would make a great stocking stuffer and even better if your princess gets one, another princess with cancer gets one as well.
