~I received a Vanilla Gift Card to familiarize myself for this post. Opinions and stories are my own.~
Graduating is a very big thing in my family. I know it is for most families, but I’ve rarely seen the collective gasp of hope that I’ve watched in mine for so many years. Many of the members in my family did not or could not graduate. They walked very difficult and different roads than those tossing caps and heading into college. So when one of ours nears the podium it is by and large the most precious thing that we could be given. What graduation gift could you give a young adult for achieving a collective dream?
We all know that life after high-school is hard enough as it is. Most of our kids are going to test their feet in the waters of the world by going to college, entering trade schools or going off on their own adventures. We know the excitement overrides the transition and we can’t hold their hands that far, but we can offer the gift of helping with the little things as we always have through Vanilla Gift Cards. It’s a Visa Debit Card that you can get pretty much anywhere and load with $25-$100 to help with the things your new adult is sure to miss. I remember moving out on my own for the first time and realizing refrigerator condiments weren’t automatically in the fridge and soap didn’t magically appear by the laundry.
It’s also a gift that anyone in the family can give. These little gifts can add up to mean a whole lot for a new graduating adult in the world! My son is going to be turning 18 and venturing those very same roads next year and I know what it would mean to him.
The last of the graduates of 2015 are heading on the podiums soon, maybe one of them is yours! Why not offer a little gift card with gratitude. You can find them at almost any local retailer near you.
