The legacy of Harry Potter ended with it’s great finale, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows II. I took my son Cody to see the end and it was sad when we walked out of the theater knowing that it was over. Tucking our 3D glasses into our pockets, there was this great silence. You see, Cody grew up on Harry Potter, like a lot of teenagers his age. He was four when we saw the first movie in theaters and we continued this tradition for 10 years. The day of the last film was a bit emotional, a decade had passed and Harry Potter grew up, had a family and moved on with millions of teenagers standing outside missing him. Through every era there has always been characters that became anomalies, somehow reaching out through screens to the hearts of the masses, as Stephen King had said: “Harry Potter will indeed stand time’s test and wind up on a shelf where only the best are kept; I think Harry will take his place with Alice, Huck, Frodo, and Dorothy and this is one series not just for the decade, but for the ages”.
In the epic finale, the battle between the good and evil forces of the wizarding world escalates into an all-out war. The stakes have never been higher and no one is safe. But it is Harry who may be called upon to make the ultimate sacrifice as he draws closer to the climactic showdown with Lord Voldemort. It all ends here.
My son still watches all of the films, over and over again and so I am so excited to finally get the last film to complete our collection! I know many of you feel the same way, whether for yourselves or for your children. This is tradition for my son and I. It dates the years when we were alone together off in the world and the world of Harry Potter gave us a reprieve from times of struggle and gave us something to cherish together. To have the ability to sit and watch them side by side is momentous. And that is why I am incredibly excited to be able to offer this giveaway of the last of the great Harry Potter movies, to you and your families.
