We’re moving at the end of the month. I began this blog on October 9th, 2010 with a story called, “Renting the American Dream”. Now we will be moving into what we’re hoping will be a long standing home. It’s smaller, peculiar in ways just as we are, and more than anything it felt like home. We have some new surprising changes coming in our lives and we needed a different house, something more cost efficient for us mainly.

It has a red door. I’m very partial to red doors. They beckon me as deserted lighthouses once did sailors lost at sea. I can’t wait until I can walk back through the red door and hang the painting we made on our first anniversary on the wall adjacent to it; so when I walk in I will always be reminded that I’m home. I’m also excited to be able to decorate one room with the Sesame Street decals, one with the Spaceships and Stars from Dali Decals and I have Zombie ones for Cody’s room.
At least my nomadic desires don’t stray farther from this town. This town gave my son friends for the first time, a place to ride a bike and get in trouble for getting his school clothes dirty at a creek. I never wanted him to have to know Good-byes.
