This week we decided to go with another easy and tasty homemade baby food recipe, Apple and Banana. There was very little prep for this one which made it so fast to make and not time-consuming at all, just like all moms like! Apples and Bananas are great sources of antioxidants and fiber, as well as vitamin rich to help with normal growth and development of little ones!
- Peel, cut and dice the apple and placed it into a sauce pan with just about an inch of water. I use a small sauce pan, this way you get a good idea of how much I am working with here.
- Cook for 5-10 minutes or until the apple becomes soft and manageable to work with for your food processor.
- While letting the apple cool down a little bit, slice the banana and place it into the Magic Bullet (or food processor of choice) along with the cooked apples and a little bit of the juice that was in the pan. (I add more juice if I need it later.)
There you have it some tasty homemade apple and banana baby food, my daughter just loves it!
A Little Tip: You can save homemade baby food for up to 3-6mo (depending on the fruit/vegetables) by pouring the excess into ice-cube trays and when frozen, placing them in freezer proof bags! This really helps if you are a on-the-go Mom or just need to grab something on the way out of the house! Otherwise, homemade baby food saves up to 48 hours in the fridge.
I hope that you enjoy your homemade baby food recipes as much as we do and I will see you next week.
