So this week I decided to make a simple and delicious homemade baby food recipe for my baby girl to eat. I figured what the hey, I’ll give Avocado’s a try! When you read about avocado’s, you find out just how easy they are to use! I was impressed and couldn’t wait to give my girl a healthy spoon full.
Now remember when making baby foods to make foods that are recommended for your child’s age group, avocado’s are recommended for children 6 months and older. Another thing that I have learned in my internet searches for my homemade baby foods is that when you introduce new foods to your baby it is important to follow the four-day rule, to help identify and prevent food allergies and digestive problems.
There is no cooking required for this baby food puree. Simply cut open your avocado and spoon out the soft center. Then cut up your banana’s and place them into your food processor. I am using the Magic Bullet, but anything you have there at home will work. With the avocado and banana they are already so soft to begin with that you can almost mush them up with a fork. I added a little bit of water to get a more puree consistency for my little girl. As she gets older I will begin to make her foods more textured.
Now I used 2 avocado’s and 2 banana’s and this made enough to fill up 6 of my baby food jars. The thing that is really neat about this recipe is that you can make as little or as much as you want and literally taking only minutes out of your day. Also another cool thing about avocado’s is that all you really need to do is just cut it open and grab a spoon. It is so soft and tasty on the inside that no prep work even needs to be done. My little girl loves avocado and I probably would have never of known it if I were still buying baby food from the store.
I hope that you and your little one like and enjoy this weeks Homemade baby food as much as we do. Have fun and Enjoy!
