So I finally got through all of the baby food jars that were given to me from friends and family. I had tons of it! My sweet little girl got a Magic Bullet from her Aunt Manda for the baby shower and I have been just dying to test this baby out and give it a GO. Here is our first try at Homemade Baby Food!
I have never made baby food before and I didn’t really know where to begin. So what does any mom do that doesn’t really know how to go about it, I looked it up on the internet. I found some really awesome baby food recipes out there and I thought that it would be a great thing to share with all of our wonderful mommies out there.
The first thing that I decided to make was a Blueberry, Peach and Apple puree. It was so simple to make and who would have thought a little bit really does go a long way! I have a couple of weeks worth from all of the fruit that I bought. I will give you the recipe that is about 1 weeks worth of puree and it is super yummy! Ofcourse I tried it haha if I don’t like it I can’t imagine her liking it either. It really is good and so nice to have fresh baby food around the house for my little girl.
A wonderful Blueberry recipe:
- 1 small apple, peeled, cored and sliced
- 1 peach
- 4 oz (1/2 cup) fresh blueberries
Place the peach in the small saucepan, cut an X on the top of the fruit and place it upside down in the saucepan, put 1 inch of water into the bottom of the saucepan and simmer for 5 minutes. Add blueberries and apples to the saucepan and simmer for another 5 minutes. Cool to a handling temperature, then remove the skin from the peach (it should slip right off). Transfer the ingredients to a blender or puree until smooth. Use the reserved cooking liquid to thin the puree, if necessary.
Vwalah there ya go! Nice delicious fresh fruit puree for you sweet little one. My little girl just gobbles it on down and anxiously waits for the next bite. It is so nice seeing my little girl love the food that I am feeding her instead of her reluctantly wanting to eat or just down right not opening her mouth for the next bite. Not only is it frustrating for her it is for mom too. Problem solved!! Now everyone is happy 🙂 I hope that you enjoy and I will share next weeks recipe with you too!
