As I mentioned before in my previous review, the Vanilla & Sweet Orange Product Line from Hugo Naturals has not left me disappointed. In the previous review, I highlighted the shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, body butter, and essential mist, so if you haven’t had a chance, go and check it out.

One thing I want to emphasize about this company is that not only are all the ingredients natural, but they are also food-grade. In this review, you will see that my tot used some of these products and it is comforting to know that if she accidentally put some in her mouth, which toddlers always seem to do, that it isn’t going to hurt her. Honestly, after watching the video below, the products look delish as they are “cooking” them up that I would be tempted to try them myself.

Tempting, isn’t it? Considering how good the products look in the video, that kind of gives you an idea how purely delicious these products smell.

Liquid Hand soap

Vanilla & Sweet Orange Liquid Hand Soap 8oz.
I’ve been using the liquid hand soap in my kitchen to wash my hands at the sink. Like I mentioned above, all of the ingredients are 100% natural and food grade, which is important when you are going to be working with food. A little bit of the liquid hand soap goes a long way, so unless your hands are really dirty, you won’t even need to push it down all the way. The soap didn’t dry out my hands or leave a residue on them. I love that it has Vitamin E in it to help nourish my skin, Aloe extract to help moisturize, and of course, being a Montanan, I had to look up what the Arnica Montana Flower Extract was for. Surprisingly, it is added for anti-irritant and anti-inflammatory purposes, so not only is the soap gently cleansing your skin, it is also making it feel better. On a side note, while I was typing up this review and reading the label, I gracefully spilled the soap on my clothes and the couch. I’m happy to report it cleaned right up.

Natural Bar Soap

Vanilla & Sweet Orange Bar Soap 4oz.
The handcrafted bar soap, as you can see above, looks yummy! Out of all the products I tried, the bar soap seemed to have a soapier smell rather than the sweet orange smell that I love. My hubby actually really likes the bar soap because it is more neutral smelling than some of the other products. I’ve been using this as hand soap in the bathroom and when you lather up, it feels nice and creamy. It rinses off clean and doesn’t leave a residue on your hands. It also contains Vitamin E like the liquid soap and several pure essential oils, like coconut, to pamper and nourish your skin. This would be a great alternative to your conventional soap that has petroleum products and phosphates in it, particularly for camping. I am definitely going to add this natural bar soap to my list as a little luxury item to pack.

Natural Foaming Hand Soap

Vanilla & Sweet Orange Foaming Hand Soap 8.5oz.
The Foaming Hand Soap has been mainly used by my tot. Since she is diligently exploring the world around her, she also picks up just about anything…beetles, dirt clods, various trash, etc. This leads to lots of hand washing and we were washing her hands at the kitchen sink since that is where I have liquid soap, but I would have to hold her up and wash at the same time. Not exactly the easiest or most effective method. The foaming hand soap has been put in “her” bathroom, so now when she comes inside, we can go wash her hands in there with the “bubbles”. The bar soaps are still too big for her to grasp in her hand easily, so the foaming soap is a great alternative. She also likes playing with the bubbles, so it gets all over her hands, which helps her learn how to effectively wash her hands. The only problem we have run into is that she wants to wash her hands several times in a row, which I guess isn’t a bad thing. Out of the hand soaps, I think this one smells the best and the sweet orange scent lingers longer on my skin. Like the other ones, it doesn’t dry out my skin or leave a residue. This soap has Oat extract, Aloe and Shea butter in it to help leave your skin nice and soft.

Natural Lip Balm

Vanilla & Sweet Orange Lip balm .15oz.
Currently, I live in the desert, so Lip balm is essential for me. The Vanilla & Sweet Orange Lip balm is the first natural lip balm I have used and I was really surprised by how it feels. When applying the lip balm, it is not hard and waxy like some other ones, but instead it is a bit warm and oily. You can literally feel the natural oils seeping in and hydrating your lips. Although it smells good, like the other products in this line, it doesn’t really have a taste. I really like that since I would be constantly licking my lips if it remotely tasted how good it smells. I typically use this lip balm right before bed, one of my habits, and it has kept them nice and hydrated. Now that I think about it, I have barely been using lip balm during the day since they rarely feel dry. Once again, the ingredients in this product are natural and food grade, which is important when applying on your lips.

I’m actually sad that this will wrap up my review for Hugo Naturals as I have enjoyed introducing you to this amazing company. I look forward to trying more of their products down the road as I continue to take little steps to reduce the amount of toxins my family is exposed to.
