Meet our new garden friend, Mr. Squirrel. He’s a big bully. Here he is stealing all the bird seed from the argumentative birds. He’s pretty funny when he gets up on his hind legs and starts duking it out with one of the big crows over a Sunflower Seed.
He’s really cute though and we don’t seem to bother him much. He just hides up in our sweetgum tree until we go inside. Speaking of our Garden, it’s going pretty well! Although, I had to move our Raspberry plant as it wasn’t happy at all and wouldn’t even root. I moved it to where there was more sun; I hope that helps.

The grass we planted in the back of the garden area isn’t catching though. Shortly after we tilled and spread the seed it rained, effectively ruining that idea. We tried a few other times but it just washes down, so we’re considering sod. The problem is, if we get sod then half our yard will be the seeded grass and the other part thick sod grass. That would look kind of ridiculous. Has anyone had that issue before?
I’ve also read up a lot about Raspberries, but if anyone has any helpful ideas on how I can make this plant happy I’d appreciate it. It’s doing better in the new area, but it’s still looking a little dried out.
At least it looks like I’ll be making Apple Pie this fall! As long as the Squirrel and the Birds don’t get to them first.
