Over the weekend we have been preparing the area for our garden. We had to initially remove many weeds and rooted bushes, pull up the bricks along the back end and place another piece of wood to surround the garden. The next thing we needed to do was to till the area and prepare it for a fence! There are a lot of rabbits around here so we assumed that before the plants went in, we might want to find a way to protect them.
First things first, we had to put the Snow Joe / Sun Joe Tiller together. They were kind enough to send us a TJ600E Tiller/Cultivator to help with our garden! It is very easy to put together and we had it ready the night before within 15 minutes. My little tot was pretty excited watching Daddy put the Tiller together, we told him it was like a mini push tractor.
The Snow Joe / Sun Joe TJ600E is perfect for our garden size, however, it could probably do triple the size easily in the same amount of time. It’s a pretty powerful medium sized Tiller with a 6.5 AMP and I love, love, love that it is an Electric Tiller that doesn’t use gasoline. They do have a 2.5 and a 9 AMP if you are looking for something a little smaller or larger for your garden.

The dirt was very nice and smooth once the tiller was finished with it. We let it sit for a few days before applying manure and a top of organic soil to give it some moisture. And for the last few days we’ve been watering it and I’m been searching for a fence! So instead of breaking our already sore backs with a hoe and a shovel, this took less than 15 min and was readily prepared! Seeing as my husband and I already feel like we’re half broken in our age, I have to give many thanks to Snow Joe / Sun Joe for introducing us to the amazing wonders of their electric tillers.
We’re extremely happy with it, especially with the results. We weren’t sure how it’d do with some of the roots since the garden is near a tree, but we didn’t have any problems. What small ones there were were easily taken care of by the large blades and it tills 7in so the larger ones were deeper.
The electrical cord for the electric tiller is very long! So we had no problem reaching our garden as it extends 50fit. It’s thermo rubber so it resists oil, grease, moisture and abrasion as well as withstand extreme temperatures. This would be important if you were starting a garden after the first frost, but with the insane weather we didn’t even get one of those days!
The Snow Joe / Sun Joe TJ600E Tiller has inspired me to do a lot more with my backyard, my husband too. We’ve actually decided to tear down our shed and build this entire sitting area with a circular fireplace. Fun! But that also means tilling out areas for bushes and I’m already in process of preparing the side of the house I had in my previous video for flowers. It makes it so easy to prepare the ground that you just get inspired to do more. Consider saving yourself the pain of bending over a hoe and spending hours tilling up the ground by hand; you’ll see what I mean.
So while the ground is setting in our garden and I am scoping out fences to keep the rabbits at bay, you can have some fun entering to win a TJ600E Tiller/Cultivator for yourself! Many thanks to Snow Joe / Sun Joe for being a part of my inBloom series!
Purchase: You can purchase the TJ600E Tiller/Cultivator for $159.99.
