I feel as though I sound ridiculous on video so I have to write this all out. Ha! inBloom will be my new little section for gardening. I’m a beginner, so you will get a beginners viewpoint. My grandmother had a garden when I was a little girl and I have many fond memories shucking corn and popping green beans. With the help of Snow Joe / Sun Joe, I am going to be able to till out an area of my yard to garden so that I can give these memories to my children.
My husband came across this book for Disaster Preparedness and it had a section on canning. When I was little and we were really, very, very poor, my Mother and Grandmother used to can goods. I’m really hoping to grow enough that I can practice this year and perhaps get into the hang of it by next fall. I don’t suppose it’s very easy and it’s also very time consuming, but there is something about following the footsteps of the great women who came before me that inspires me to try.
To begin the garden, I must first till up the ground. Which is how Snow Joe / Sun Joe are helping me to create memories! They are sending me a Tiller Joe TJ600E 6.5 AMP Electric Tiller! I’m pretty excited to get started. It is going to make the entire process a lot easier and since there are three sections of my yard I want to till up, it’ll save us a lot of time since we’re a little late to start considering the odd weather changes. This Tiller is pretty amazing, check out its features!

What is really wonderful about having an electric tiller is that it doesn’t use gas. With all the gas prices rising, it’s enough of a pain fueling two cars. It doesn’t use gas, oil and it also doesn’t need tune-ups. That is incredible. I really want to make a “green” garden (not sure how much more green a home garden can get!) and it makes me feel good that I’m not burning up more gas to do it.
The lovely man that puts up with me (my husband) is going to be helping me put this whole idea together. He’s already started telling me certain things I shouldn’t do, such as: “Don’t buy seeds, just get the plants.” It’s so late in the season that starting from seeds would take much longer and there isn’t any promise that they would grow well. So we cut off some time by purchasing the starter plants. Smart! Also, he reminded me about the rabbits we joke with Judah about being the Easter Bunny in the yard and that we need to get fencing. And of course my teen and my tot are going to be helping me! This is a family project and we’re all excited to start.
So welcome to my back yard! If you know any tips that could help me, leave a comment! And once Snow Joe / Sun Joe’s fine electric tiller shows up, I will start the beginning of our gardening series that will hopefully end with lots of fruits and vegetables.
If you want a chance to win one of Snow Joe / Sun Joe’s Electric Tillers, they are giving away 5 Tiller Joe TJ601E Electric Tillers on their Facebook Page! Enter by March 28th!
I was given a tiller to help with my gardening, however, all opinions are my own and/or my families and are not influenced by any form of compensation.
