When it comes to the Holidays I am quite the stubborn chef. I tend to refuse and often feel insulted if and when anyone tries to get their hands into my kitchen as I am creating the magical feast for my family. It’s just that it’s a very stressful time of year and Moms (like me) take great pride in their Holiday meals, so much that more than admit to needing any help at all they smile, sometimes a little over brightly and say, “No! Everything is fine! I’m all set thank you!” Even if (like me) you are no where near ready for the barrage of dishes that must accompany a traditional Holiday meal. Instead I tend to frantically sift through as many magazines and websites as I can to find different ways to spice up the holidays and make the next years dishes and decor look extraordinary and in some way making it also seem effortless, or at least very well pre-planned.
This year I was introduced to Safeway’s Holiday Inspiration page, which I must say is extremely well created! How neat is it that you can simply click off each part at the top that you have no desire to look at and quickly get to the sections that are the most helpful? Wonderful! Of course the first thing I saw was the 2-Hour Turkey, how could you not?? Two Hours! That seems incredulous. I might actually have to try it. If I could make a Turkey in 2 hours then I might actually be able to take a shower after all that cooking instead of looking like a puff pastry by the time it comes to sit down.
There are five different sections you can choose from on the top and to also un-check; one of which is “My Favorites” to store the ones you want to keep. That’s the beautiful thing about these pages! Instead of having multiple pages to flip through for recipes, you click on one and it magnifies it without taking you away from your ‘My Favorites’. This way you can shift between two sections you want without any hassle! I absolutely love this! Check out the Holiday Meals page and click on the recipes and you can get a demonstration of what I mean.

You also have the choice of a drop-down menu of themes. One of which is Meet Debi Lilly, Safeway’s Hostess and Design Expert who had put together all of the beautiful themes you see on the Safeway Holiday Inspiration page and the other is one I have bookmarked with a fervor, Leftover Makeover! It has an abundant display of multiple recipes for all your leftover goodies! I have done the same thing every year since I never really had any ideas for leftovers, but the Asian Soup with Vegetables looks too good to pass up.
Thanks to Safeway’s Holiday page I’ve gotten a little more inspiration for my Thanksgiving meal coming up on Wednesday, yes we have it a day early because my husband usually works on the actual day. This way I can have mostly everything done before anyone gets near my kitchen and causes me an abundance of anxiety. They call it Holiday nerves, but really I think it’s just a stubborn pride thing about that final moment when all the dishes are laid out on the table, beautifully, perfectly, before anyone touches them and you stare at the colors and breath in the beautiful scent of perfection and you can say, “I did that.”
I received a gift card from Safeway as a thank you for participating. Opinions are my own and/or my families and are not influenced by any form of compensation.
