Kaijudo: Rise of the Duel Masters Debuts Today at 8:00PM EST on the Hub!

A brand new animation is debuting on The Hub tonight at 8:00 P.M. EST, Kaijudo: Rise of the Duel Masters! The series is about a 14 year old boy, Ray, who lives with his mom and granddad. He has been recruited by the Duel Masters to study Kaijudo: The Way of the Creature. Having chosen Ray for his natural talent as a creature tamer and duelist, he learns to work with the magical creatures in their world. Alongside his friends Allie and Gabe, they hope to master the art of Kaijudo and remove The Veil that has been dividing the worlds for thousands of years.
Kaijudo
The series is based on the Kaijudo Trading Card Game, a re-imagined version of the Duel Masters. The game (that is played within the animation) uses creatures which belong to five different civilizations: Fire, Darkness, Light, Nature and Water and each civilization has their own races. The Duel Masters can ‘summon’ the creatures to call upon their very distinct powers.

Like many TCG (Trading Card Game) animations, this is a very fast paced show with multiple layers. A great show for tweens and early teenagers; however I can see many adults that are into this genre being pretty excited. I thought the characters were amusing as well as easy to latch onto, story wise and I’m really looking forward to see more of the story!
