When you’re pregnant, there are a million things you need to think about and buy for your upcoming addition that it is easy to overlook the necessity of maternity clothing. During my first pregnancy, I worked outside of the home, so I had to buy maternity clothes that still looked professional enough for the work place. I always forget how expensive clothes are and it is really frustrating to spend so much on something you are “hopefully” only going to wear a few months. Now that I am pregnant again so soon after my first, I am thankful that I have some basics in my maternity clothes that I can wear casually as I am now a stay at home mom. It also means that the budget is a bit tighter this time around and as I don’t have to go to “work” I don’t necessarily have to have more maternity clothes. The only bummer is that the holidays are coming up…which means picture time…which means I would really like something to look cute in so I don’t avoid having my picture taken. Thankfully, there are some great and affordable options from Kiki’s Fashions.
Kiki’s Fashions offers cute and trendy maternity clothes from dresses, jeans, skirts, to a wide range of tops. They also have a great section for under $10, so you are definitely going to be able to find something in your price range. Since Kiki’s Fashions sells exclusively online, they are able to keep their costs down, which means they are also able to pass that savings on to you!
My current maternity clothes are comfortable, but let’s just say I like black. So when I was given the opportunity to review an item from Kiki’s Fashions, my hubby gave me one stipulation…not black. I admit that I was worried that I wouldn’t find anything I like, but there are so many eye-catching colors, that my fears were soon diminished. Since I only have 9 weeks to go, I not only wanted to find a top that would actually fit, but one that I could possibly feel comfortable in afterwards when I’m lounging at home adjusting to my new little one.
After lots of deliberation, I chose this cute shirt pictured below.
I measured carefully and referred the size chart and picked out an appropriate size. I read that sizing does run small, but since my measurements were roughly in the middle, I went ahead with the size on the size chart. As you can see in my pics, the shirt does fit snug in some places, but it is still stretchy in the areas that I will still be expanding. If you are border line on a size, I would definitely buy a size up.
This shirt is very light and airy, which was really nice to not worry about sweating when we visited the pumpkin patch. I also can’t emphasize how gorgeous and vibrant the color is, plus the shirt length was just right. My hubby likes that this shirt is more fitted than my others so I don’t look so blah and actually look like I am pregnant.
The only complaint I really have about the shirt would be that it is dry clean only. This really isn’t a problem, but I would rather have an item I can toss in with the rest of my laundry. It is worth doing one extra step though to have a top that makes me feel less conscientious about my weight gain.
Now that I’ve tried Kiki’s Fashions, I can’t help but lurk on their site for some more must have items.
For example, this adorable jacket for fall…
Or this cute dress would have been perfect when I had a baby shower…
