~I received a Kitchen Curry Master to facilitate this review. It is one of the best products I have ever received! Opinions and stories are my own.~
There is no other food that I love more than curry. The complex dance of herbs and spices are like a powerful aromatherapy for me; alleviating stress and wear from day to day. Until I was given The Kitchen Curry Master I hadn’t actually been able to make my own curry and typically spent a fortune for it. I always felt I had to splurge, never realizing it (like most other things) was actually much cheaper to cook. And like most people, I thought it terribly complicated to make.
Now that’s all changed.
When you look at a curry recipe you will see multiple spices that aren’t in your typical spice cabinet. Garam Masala, Cardamoms and Tumeric Powder aren’t things I have lying around! Obviously, these aren’t inexpensive spices when purchasing separately either. Depending on which curry dish you are making, you may need anywhere from 5+ exotic spices. I remember the first time I went out on a quest to make curry and gave up when I saw about 20 different curry spices and felt I was in over my head. That’s why The Kitchen Curry Master was created! To stop all the confusion and share with everyone how uncomplicated it is when you have all the right spices ready for you.
Low and behold, all I needed to make chicken curry was chicken, ginger root, garlic, an onion, some tomato paste, crushed tomatoes, olive oil, water and some cilantro! That I could do. These items are generally very inexpensive at the store and some I already had in my pantry. However, you will see that my recipe is a little thinner than theirs in the video, this is because I kind of forgot tomato paste at the store. Ssshh! I just added some extra crushed tomatoes!
The moment I opened the Kitchen Curry Master I was in LOVE. My whole kitchen began to smell like the most exotic place on earth. The colors were rich and I felt as though I opened up a whole new world. If you are having a stressful or sad day, there is nothing like washing it away in the vibrancy of spice. In fact, some studies have claimed that the hotter ingredients in curry lead to the body’s release of endorphins!
Having everything ready to go is one of the keys to making the curry recipe. It is a lot easier when you are prepped. You will see in the recipe video below how she has everything ready and set aside. Since Tot doesn’t eat curry (yet), I did 1/2 the recipe. It calls for 2lbs of boneless chicken breasts, but that is a lot for just 2 people. The whole recipe serves 4 and you can also find a printable version at their store!
Making the curry was so simple. It was so easy with The Kitchen Curry Master that I actually was laughing at myself for thinking it was beyond me once. I’ve never been happier in my kitchen than when making this recipe. Sitting down to eat it was the most satisfying moment and it was amazing. I am NEVER going to spend a fortune on curry again!
The kit came with multiple other curry recipes, many of them my favorites (like Potato Curry!) and some new ones. The recipe book also has details about the spices and their function in cooking. This whole package would make the most amazing gift for the Foodie in your family. The store also offers the spices without the kit, extra spices, the cookbook and much more!
