~I participated in an Ambassador Activation on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Lay’s. I received a promotional item to thank me for participating.~
So the question of the evening is, have you entered the Lay’s “Do Us A Flavor” Contest? For those of you that are new, it’s a contest where you can create your own Lay’s potato chip flavor for a chance to win a $1 million dollar grand prize (See Rules)! Unlike last year where you only got one chip type to choose from, this year you can pick from the Original, Kettle Cooked and Wavy Lay’s! You can enter until April 5th!
Coming up with a flavor isn’t all that difficult when you think about your family’s favorite dishes or new dishes you’ve tried out. Most of us have at least one dish that our family’s absolutely love, ours is Fettuccine Carbonara. In fact, if you look on the right side bar you’ll notice that the recipe is a top post, meaning thousands of other people love it too!
This recipe has been around for a very long time. I just had a special connection to it because when my siblings and I were kids it was our favorite special dish that my mom only made on occasion. We used to call it Bacon Noodles and I actually never knew the real name of it until I was 22! The first time I made it for the kids they were in heaven and it became to them what it was to us, that’s what makes recipes pretty special.
Other favorites include:
- Slow Cooker Ribs
- Creamy Cheesy Penne Pasta
- Pepper Steak & Rice
- Chicken Linguine
- Easy Feta Chicken Sliders
Just think, you could immortalize your Grandmother’s best casserole (or in our case enchilada’s) in a Lay’s Flavor!
All you have to do is go to “Do Us A Flavor” and Create Your Own. Don’t worry, you can get help if you need it. A judging panel made up of chefs, foodies and flavor experts will narrow it down to four finalist. Those four flavors will then be developed by Frito-Lay’s culinary experts and released in summer 2014. From there, it will be up to fans to vote for the finalist flavor they want to see stay on store shelves. I think it would be just as exciting to get to be one of the finalists and have the flavor created! Of course, who doesn’t want 1 million dollars?
If my children were to pick out their favorite recipe to make into a Lay’s potato chip, it would probably be something sweet.
They always pick on me for drinking coffee so much because they wear me out, so I decided to make them what appeared like coffee, but was actually cake! If I had to guess it would certainly be the Coffee-Cup Cakes for their favorite flavor of the day.
What’s your favorite flavor? Do you have a special dish? Don’t forget to enter it into the Lay’s “Do Us A Flavor” Contest! You never know what could happen!
