~I received samples from the Super Genius Collection for the purpose of reviewing. Opinions and stories are my own.~
My oldest daughter has never really enjoyed flash cards and it was torture for me to get her to participate so I just assumed we would never do them again. I normally pass on flash card type reviews because they would not be well received by my girls. We do enjoy board games and some of their favorites are Blue Orange Games so when I saw they had a new Super Genius flash card collection I decided it would be worth a try. Super Genius is a new educational collection that brings the power of play to the learning process of reading and math. These are not your typical flash cards and are more of a flash card game that is actually fun!
Designed for kids ages 5 and up, Super Genius is a matching game that was developed hand-in-hand with learning professionals. Match words to their images, addition equations to their sums, and multiplication equations to their products. There is always 1 match between any two cards. The challenge of discovering the match first keeps kids engaged and having fun while they inadvertently practice problem-solving and linguistic skills.
In these 2 sets I received are instructions to play several different games but all with the same goal of matching up on each card. The different ways to play just keep things interesting.
There is even a cooperative way to play so you are working together as a team for a common goal instead of against each other.
This series currently includese 5 games in convenient magnet boxes that make learning fun on the go.
Super Genius won a coveted spot in FamilyFun Magazine’s Toy Fair Favorites as well as winning the ASTRA Award for Best Toys for Kids!
My 6 year old thinks these card games are “awesome” and she wants to play long after I am tired of playing. These games are especially great during the summer when class is out and education is at a trickle. Playing these are definitely helping with her sight words and for once she is eager to learn. A little competition can definitely do that for ya! This learning game is available now at your local toy stores.
