~I received Little Traveler Series Books for the purpose of reviewing. Opinions and stories are my own.~
I have read many board books over the years and they are still my favorite kind of books for babies and toddlers as they are extremely durable. I will admit that reading ABC books over and over and over again can get quite monotonous so I get extra excited when a board book comes along that is extremely different from all the rest. Two new travel board books: How Penguin Says Please! and How Tiger Says Thank You! take both toddlers and adults on an adventure around the world in different languages. These are not your ordinary board books!
These additions to the Little Traveler Series by Abigail Samoun and illustrated by Sarah Watts each follow a loveable animal across the globe, teaching one how to say “please” and “thank you” in eight popular languages: English, French, Russian, Arabic, Hindi, Chinese, Japanese, and Spanish. No worries as it shows you how to pronounce the words.
They even have a travel map on the last pages highlighting the different countries visited. These books are just the thing for getting children excited about an upcoming family vacation or getting them excited to learn about places around the world! Their small size and light weight make them perfect for carry-on bags to keep little ones occupied while on a long drive or flight this summer.
This brightly illustrated series has become an instant hit with my girls and all of us are learning from them. Both my 3 and 6 year old love cuddling up and trying to repeat back and memorize all the words. My oldest has always had a love of learning languages (definitely gets that from her daddy and not me). These books are super adorable and I never get tired of reading them.
