Every Mom will tell you that after you have kids the most cherished place in the house becomes the bathroom. Showers and baths transform themselves into exotic vacation spots, where somehow the steaming water and exotic scents whisk us away to some peaceful state of Nirvana. Even if you only get 15 minutes, you can somehow stretch them out to feel like forever. There is one thing that is always needed to disappear into these imaginary lands we create and that is the soft elements of bath products.
I’ve not been feeling too well, again. Since my youngest started school I’ve felt I’ve been sick half the time. When one bug passes another is lying in wait it seems. The only thing that has preserved my sanity this past week is the products I’ve been blessed to review from JOA Bath and Body. A blend of Lavender & Vanilla Indulgence Bath Salts and Lotion. I slip on a pair of headphones, soak inside steaming water with the salts and pretend I’m in Fiji with blue waters and white sand beaches. After spending the whole day thinking nothing of myself, it is nice to have something that reaches out to help me remember to “Be Good to Yourself”, which is JOA Bath and Body’s slogan.
The name JOA is the Korean word for ‘Good’. The owner Cindy’s brother came up with it after returning from Korea and that small word blossomed into what she’s created today; good products with a good purpose for good reasons. What began as a way of ensuring her family had products for their sensitive skin, has become a small business with a lovely heart for preserving our environment. JOA believes in positive community growth, giving back to communities, people, paying it forward and ultimately teaching others how to do the same. This is the platform that this small business runs on and you can feel the care and time it took to create each product just by the difference in how it makes your skin feel.
There are wonderful products at JOA Bath and Body. I love the idea of showering with Chocolate soap from their Decadence collection and stepping out of and smoothing the smell of chocolate in cream over the chill air’s dryness. When the weather gets like this my skin becomes so dry I feel like I am shedding for the winter.
Each collection has a concept. I reviewed the Indulgence collection which has the light scents of Lavender and Vanilla to ease tension and purify the skin, but there are products that are pure without any additives.
I loved the products that I had the opportunity to try. The Indulgence bath salts smelled quite strong upon receiving the lovely little box, but once added to the water the scent smoothed into a light air that wasn’t at all overwhelming. If anything, the aroma gave the perfect ambiance to slip away to. Afterward the lotion complimented the salts, locking in the moisture well and keeping my skin smooth throughout the day. It didn’t leave any residue or oiliness and the lotions scent is very akin to capturing the memory and carrying it with you.
If you are wanting to ‘Be Good to Yourself’ for a little while, take a moment to visit JOA Bath and Body. There are few products, but that is only because she takes the time to perfect one before creating another.
I received a product for the purpose of reviewing. Opinions are my own and/or my families and are not influenced by any form of compensation.
