I was given the opportunity to preview My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic “A Canterlot Wedding” back in April. I only got to watch the first part of it and since I wasn’t able to watch the second half on the Hub Network when it aired, it just has been bothering me all this time. I may be in my 30s, but I don’t like not knowing what happens in stories! So I was really excited when I was given the chance to review My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic – Royal Pony Wedding when Shout! Factory and Hasbro decided to collaborate on this DVD! This way I could see the part I missed but it also has three bonus episodes! Perfect.
The first episode is where Twilight Sparkle’s brother Shining Armor is getting married to Princess Cadance. Although, he unfortunately forgot to tell his sister and she feels let down. When she receives the Wedding Invitation with an offer to manage the affair, she initially doesn’t want to. However, strange things happen where Princess Cadance doesn’t seem like herself at all and you are stuck between wondering if it is the stress of the wedding or if she really is who she seems.
In the second episode, after a very dramatic to-be-continued, everyone is in for a surprise. It’s hard to say anything without giving it away, but it was really exciting! Even for a kid’s show, you just can’t help but be sucked into the entire plot that is filled with schemes, dangers and lovely music. It’s no wonder so many people love this show!
After Part I & II, there are three Bonus Episodes:
- Hearts and Hooves Day
- Sweet and Elite
- The Best Night Ever
Each of the Bonus Episodes coincide with the wedding theme very well (love and parties!). I was happy to see that all of the episodes had the great scripting and story-lines as the the big Royal Pony Wedding. I was thoroughly amused by the antics of the pony’s who remind me a lot of the kids and teens in my family. I couldn’t help but chuckle every time one of them overreacted because I could certainly see my nieces doing the same thing!
Which, by the way, the kids loved as well! I’m not the only one! It’s amazing how many hearts this show has captured in such a diverse age range. It really goes to show that there is something amazing about My Little Ponies: Friendship is Magic.
The DVD also comes with Printable Coloring Sheets as well! This is great if you are planning a My Little Pony Party and want to have printables for the kids or to put in treat bags! You can also print lots of Wedding Coloring Pages and Activities from the website.
Purchase: Don’t miss out on all the fun! You can pre-order My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic – Royal Pony Wedding on DVD for $11.99 on Amazon and have it shipped once it is officially out this coming Tuesday!
