I haven’t gotten to write anything about my son’s birthday! He turned 4 years old on this past Monday. We had a little birthday at home and his super big Cars birthday is on Sunday. This was the very first year he recognized what a birthday was and that it was for him. With many thanks to his cousin for having a birthday party the week before which prompted the idea. My little guy never understood presents or anything outside of the cake, that’s pretty much all he cared about. This year was special because it was the very first year that he realized what a gift was and the first time he told us what he’d like for his birthday.
… a lawnmower.
Well… we got him a few little plastic lawnmowers. 🙂 And of course his favorite, most favorite thing, Pixar Cars. It was just a sweet day where Daddy stayed home and we all played together with the cars and balloons. None of the chaos that will ensue on Sunday, I’m sure. My husband has decided to rig something up on our skylight to have balloons fall down on the kids, that’s about as crazy as things are going to get… well besides the giant Hungry Hungry Hippo game I created with the Mohawk Rug I’m reviewing and a trillion balloons. I’m sure I’ll have some crazy photos!
Anyway… it’s nice to see my son be excited for his birthday, for celebrating how much we love him and for how special he is to us. Even though the first words out of his mouth on his birthday were that I had big buck teeth like Tow Mater.
I love you too silly.
