First off, I am still in the process of getting that rug I wanted for the room. You’ll have to pretend that this firetruck rug is a green shag rug, can you do that? It’s supposed to be super shaggy and also 5’8′ so it appears like grass and fits the length of the wall up to the grass decals. I should have it soon! It was just difficult finding one for a child’s room in the right size / shape.

This was my first idea, before I decided to move the bookcase, but this gives a better look at the wall. Once I have the shag rug it’ll cover up the white trim and meld into the grass!

I love the way this looks because it blends into the floor to ceiling window. So he has the illusion of a beautiful fantasy garden that continues on to the world outside. It brings a lot of sunshine into the small space as well.

He loves reading here. It is his little spot. Sometimes he just lays on the rug and looks out the window or plays with the animals on the walls.

We realized later that the area above the dragonfly was kind of bare and while I was looking for garage sale items the other day I came across his name letters from his original nursery. We decided to freshen them up with blue to match the dragonflies and butterflies and put them up!

Now it’s perfect… well aside from the rug that should eventually be here to make it all really come together!

This has been a lot of fun. My husband, son and I were able to do it together. It looks really nice in his room and I’ve heard so many compliments from people first seeing it! Especially the doorway that brings you into the little reading area.

Also, if you notice, the rabbit and the turtle are next to each other because of the story of the Tortoise and the Hare. Judah really loves that!
