Here is my warning. I am going to rave about these pans for as long as I can! I absolutely love them. I received the Neoflam Midas Plus set for review and there came a point where I literally hugged them and told my husband I loved them to pieces. He probably thinks I’m crazy, but you will understand after you read this!
The Midas Plus set comes with a 1.6qt Stockpot (6″), 2.8Qt Stockpot (8″), 8″ frying pan, 10″ frying pan, glass lids, plastic lids, detachable handle, and pan protectors. You’ve probably noticed that there is only one handle, but that is because it is used for all the pots and pans! No more handles sticking out everywhere with the worry a child with grab it or it’ll get too hot to hold and no more trying to play jenga in the sink while cleaning. The handle is quick and easy to use, and honestly kinda fun!
The handle has two parts, the lever for gripping and the oval-shaped latch button for release. To grip the pan, place the silicon grip on the edge and squeeze the lever. To release, push the button and pull it towards you. Viola! It has an incredible grip, trust me, I used it to carry a pot of boiling water to the sink without a problem.
I tried to think of a way to share with you how amazing the Ecolon Ceramic Coating is. It is superior to all non-stick coatings I’ve tried so far and is PFOA and PTFE-free! To share this, I decided I would take pictures of two things that always made cleaning “non-stick” pans “non-fun”, scrambled eggs and bacon. I don’t know what it is, but without fail they always seemed to stick like glue while cooking. Now, not so much!
I barely fluffed these eggs in the picture; probably because I was too busy taking pictures. This is how smooth and non-stick the Ecolon ceramic is! I just tipped over the frying pan and viola! It slides down like liquid gold on the plate. Isn’t that beautiful! Now you know why I just had to hug these pans. I hate scrubbing.
And this was after cooking bacon! Greasy sticky bacon and nothing left but a little oil that was easily wiped away with a paper towel. That is amazing!
The ceramic also has a high scratch resistant point, but it is best to use wood or plastic utensils. It’s made from sand and stone and is 100% free of heavy metals and harmful chemicals. You don’t have to worry about scratching off the non-stick coating into your food, but you also want to take care of it by not using it in the microwave or keeping it over high heat for extended periods of time.
The lids are glass with silicone edges and small slits for venting heat. They fit both the pots and the pans! Although you can use the pots/pans in the oven, don’t use the silicone lids in the oven.
After you are finished cooking with the pots, there are convenient plastic lids that allow them to go from stove/oven to table and then your fridge. It keeps things very warm and air-tight.
Midas Plus comes has a Limited Lifetime Warranty and comes in Emerald Green and Sunrise Red. You can find more information about how to care for your ceramic set by checking out the FAQ at Neoflam.
