~I received a copy of Bugs in the Kitchen for review. Opinions and stories are my own.~
Board Games are one of the greatest ways to have family time and are (at least for my family) the best “family gift” for the Holidays! Santa always brings one family game for everyone every year and we have fun spending time together being silly at the end of the day.
Just in time for the Holidays, Ravensburger has released their new game Bugs in the Kitchen; which features a special HEXBUG Nano as the “bug”! The idea of the game is to be the one who gets the most bugs out of the kitchen by leading them into the trap. There are four traps on the 3D game board: Treats, Sardines, Bread and Cheese. The game board has snap on utensils that turn 360′, little Bug chips and a utensils die.
Each player rolls the die and whichever utensil it lands on is the one the player must turn (once). The idea is to turn the utensils in a way that makes the bug fall into your trap. If the bug falls into the trap, that player takes a bug token. The first person to receive 4 tokens wins!
The only downside to the game is that sometimes the bug gets himself stuck, but we just worked around it. Whoever’s turn it was would release the bug, obviously in their favor. Other than that blip, we had a lot of fun trying to trap the bug! Both of my boys love HEXBUG so it was really exciting to play on a 3D gameboard.
Bugs in the Kitchen is designed for 6+, but my 5 year old was able to comprehend and play just fine! It’s available exclusively from Target (in-store) or Online for $24.99!
