Although it doesn’t seem like it, children spend a large portion of their day sleeping…or at least in their pajamas. I definitely think my children spend more time in pajamas then in regular clothing and I’ll admit it, sometimes they are in their jammies all day long. Considering all those hours that the jammies our touching my child’s skin, I want to make sure they are free from any potentially harmful toxins yet still be comfy. So, while shopping for pajamas…seems like we always need more pajamas…I came across the company New Jammies.
New Jammies were created for you!! 100% organic cotton children’s sleepwear and infant wear. New Jammies makes bedtime fun and educational with our unique bold, colorful designs.
When we received a pair of New Jammies to try, I was happy to see minimal packaging when I opened the package. Nothing irritates me more than when a “green” company sends an item in a completely “non-green” manner. I also received a cute reusable organic cotton gift bag to present the pajamas in. A tradition we want to establish with our children is the giving of pajamas on Christmas Eve to be worn for Christmas morning, so these little totes will be perfect for that. Yes, I know its April, but when I find a good idea for Christmas I can’t resist mentioning it.
The next thing I noticed was how truly bold & bright the colors were. The pattern of the jammies we received is called flower girls and it has cute little flower girls, flowers, butterflies, bees, and ladybugs! They are also nice, soft and made from 100% organic cotton. Some of you may be thinking, cotton is cotton and I can totally relate because that is what I thought. Organic cotton is different though and you can see a comparison here…it seriously takes less than a minute to read.
After washing the jammies, my daughter was ready to test them out. Of course they are adorable on her, but you’ll also notice that they fit snuggly. If you’re not familiar with this type of pajamas, you may be tempted to think that they are too small and you should buy a larger size, but these jammies are true to size. The jammies are supposed to fit snug so they are close to your child’s body (applies to children over 9 months). Snug-fitting pjs don’t catch fire easily and if they do, it is difficult for the fire to burn since there is little oxygen to feed the fire. I truly think snug-fitting organic cotton pajamas are your best option when it comes to safety, since you never know what methods are used to make an article of clothing “flame resistant”.
My daughter has slept soundly in these pjs, so I assume they are comfortable. The seams aren’t bulky especially on the cuffs, which is where they fit more snuggly. They don’t ride up her legs while she is sleeping and it doesn’t seem to get twisted up, which I am assuming is because it is appropriately sized.
I have washed these many times and they didn’t shrink. The colors still look vibrant and I don’t see any fraying or de-threading. The material is just as soft…maybe even softer…as the first time my daughter wore them.
I highly recommend New Jammies and you’re going to love their choices for both girls & boys. I definitely need to get more of these, especially for my newest one. I mean look how cute the little footies below are!
Plus they do have a sale page (some 70% off) so don’t forget to check that too!
You can purchase a pair of jammies like the ones I received on the New Jammies website for $34. The reusable gift bag can be purchased for $5.
