~I received Peeps products to facilitate this review. Opinions and stories are my own.~
A few weeks ago a box of PEEPS arrived at the house with our Easter PEEP. I had put away all the sugary peep delights except for him and Tot was sitting on the couch staring at him. All the sudden he went to take a bite of his head! I yelled, “No, you don’t eat him!” and he said, “Oh! You lick him!”
It was then that I had to explain that it was not a PEEP you eat; it was a Easter PEEP that was here to make sure everyone was good for Easter. Since then he has been awfully nice to his Peep and does not try to eat him anymore.
So I told him the story about the Easter Messenger PEEPS and how if we were all really good then our PEEP would leave the gooey marshmallow PEEPS in our baskets. He liked this idea and now our PEEP is in the family basket on the table.
“The flowers were budding, the grass emerged from snow, and winter was finally coming to a close. All of the kids played outside once more, while thoughts of spring-time chores went right out the door. Meanwhile, back in Bethlehem, PA, the Easter Bunny was becoming busier by the day. But today was one of the most important of them all, as the PEEPS® gathered ‘round, some stout and some tall. They met to discuss their mission this year, a big responsibility which was sure to bring cheer. The messenger PEEPS® assured they were ready to go, and off they traveled to various homes. The PEEPS® were ready to watch over kids everywhere and report back whether each child had earned their Easter basket share.
And for all the young boys and girls who do behave, their PEEPS® will ensure their baskets are filled with the marshmallow treats they crave.”
It’s been a lot of fun with PEEPS. Our tot loves the idea of a little watchful friend and Easter is one of his favorite holidays. PEEPS winds up all over the house instead of in his basket all day, but that’s the wonderful thing about him being soft, plushy and sweet. Kids can take them anywhere, go on adventures, help with chores or even play games!
Judah wanted to put Easter eggs in PEEPS basket a few days ago and since I had an empty egg carton I decided we’d make some upcycled eggs and hide little Peepsters inside. Peepsters are these little Milk Chocolate bites with PEEPS inside!
The DIY Easter Eggs are very easy to make. You simply out the individual egg pieces and trim around them to make them flat on each side so they can go together.
Place a Peepster in on one side and then keeping it pressed together, wrap it in a piece of aluminum foil. Twist the ends and then cut off the excess and you have a shiny egg!
I hid the eggs around the house and then tot went off with Daddy to find them. Of course PEEPS was watching the whole time. I’m sure he approved!
