~I participated in an Ambassador program on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Kohl’s. I received Kohl’s gift cards and sample pieces to facilitate my posts and as a thank you for participating.~
A few weeks ago I had shared a Sneak Peek at Peter Som’s Collection for DesigNation at Kohl’s. His choice of bold prints and lines interwoven with flowing fabrics in cool hues are reminiscent of his architect parents and memories of the Bay Area. Since he began drawing at a young age, until now, these memories have had a lasting impact on his designs.
His pieces are extremely versatile due to what I like to think of as a duel personality. You can dress them up or down with ease, even without a lot of accessories. Many of my personal favorites are the more confident eccentric pieces. Take this Printed Charmeuse Tank I had picked up at the Peter Som DesignNation Pre-Sale last weekend.
The top half of the Charmeuse Tank has patterns similar to Moorish or Islamic Architecture in a pale pink, while the bottom half is a fun tropical print with a bolder pink. For me, this showcases Peter Som’s marriage of inspirations perfectly.
The front of the tank has the pattern meet in the middle, whereas the back is more of a tropical flair with the added 1-button kehole. You can also get this top in a black combo which has bold black/white lines at the top and the same tropical pattern in black.
Each of these tops would work perfectly over their complimentary Printed Shift Dresses, one which I featured in my Sneak Peek post! However, there are so many pieces in the Peter Som Collection that they would work well with, depending on your style.
The Peter Som’s Collection for DesigNation opened at Kohl’s on April 10th. I know that at my Kohl’s they have one rack right when you walk in; all you need to do is look for the the name!
