~This post is part of a sponsored campaign with Those Media Girls and pick UR gift. All thoughts and opinions are my own.~
Every year it becomes increasingly interesting to see what people get me for the holidays and it also becomes a headache trying to figure out gifts for my teen and my husband (both of whom think “whatever” is a gift choice). I spend close to 2 months searching around online for things, often forgetting where I may have found something of interest, and then resorting to choosing something wildly like Go Fish. I was chosen to participate in this campaign for pickURgift, and let me tell you, this changes everything.
First of all, this is not your everyday Wish List. You don’t have to use a program on your computer, type it out in a .doc or be registered with a specific store. This is digital freedom! Follow along while I explain.
You will be asked to create your account on pickURgift, which is very simple to do. It’ll allow you to edit your profile picture when adjusting your contact information.
After signing up it will go through an explanation about how you add the UR Button to your toolbar. This is important so that you can choose gifts wherever you want to on the web!
When you go into your contact information to edit your profile picture, it also allows you to edit preferences. These preferences are for your Reverse Wish List, for when people are looking for gifts for YOU. So make sure you enter your Sizes, Store Preferences and any other information that is important.
You can then make your Gift Page. This page contains all your contacts that you will be choosing gifts for. In other words, the Reverse Gift List option.
You add the contact’s name, email address (to send the Wish List you created for them), gender and a photo.
If you go into their contact information (as you did your own) you can also edit their sizes and preferences. This is also good to remember for your nieces, nephews, sisters, brothers, etc. I hate always calling to check up on sizes of everyone so it is nice that this area can be edited and that they can also update their own information on their account.
You have a section for your Wish List, which allows you to send it to your friends as well as keep up to date on things you like.
Here is the fun part! You can go wherever you like (I went to Amazon), choose a gift that you want and press the UR Button on your Bookmarks Toolbar. This will bring up a popup that asks you who the gift will be for (one of your contacts or your wish list), what gift page, a photo you would like to choose and a description. I put this camera on my Wish List.
You can see the camera is now in my Wish List. Had you chosen to put it on a contacts Gift Page it would be there. If you would like a video explanation, just check out How It Works.
This allows you the ability to make your Wish List and send it off so that people have it handy for your birthday, anniversary, holiday, etc. Instead of it disappearing after the holidays, it’ll always be on hand for upcoming special days and so your family will always be in-the-know!
It also allows you to create Reverse Wish Lists for your family, friends, loved ones or co-workers and mail those lists to them so that they can check off what they actually like! This way you will know 100% whether or not they like a certain gift or if that gift would totally bomb.
I love this program! I’ve already started creating lists for my family for the holidays and at least this year I can email them off and find out if they’ll actually like those gifts. It’s perfect!
