~I received products to pamper mom during pregnancy for the purpose of reviewing. Opinions and stories are my own.~
Pregnancy can be really hard on Mom both physically and mentally. I am on my third pregnancy and somehow I feel it gets harder with each one. Maybe it is just me getting old…ha! During this time I like to try and put myself first and really take care of myself. Here are 3 awesome products to help pamper mom during pregnancy.
For me the first trimester was downright brutal! I could hardly get out of bed and I was vomiting throughout the whole day. During those times all I could really get down was some liquids and light snacks. One thing that I could get down was the peapod Tea for Two: A Tea for Pregnancy which is an organic pregnancy tea to support a healthy pregnancy and help with nausea.
Tea-for-Two is a loose-leaf baby-safe herbal tea made from a select blend of wildcrafted and organic ingredients that have been used for centuries to tone and relax the uterine muscles, strengthen the womb throughout the pregnancy, and prepare the body for labor and childbirth. All-natural, caffeine-free, and with a delightful aroma both right out of the package and once brewed. I plan to use it during the entire pregnancy and it is also recommended for postpartum recovery. It says you can also make it to be frozen into “lozenges” or ice pops to alleviate severe nausea and prevent dehydration but I have not tried that yet. I am not normally a big tea drinker but I absolutely love this stuff! It has become a staple for me this pregnancy.
It is inevitable in many pregnancies…stretchmarks. I got them with my first two pregnancies and I expect them this time around as well. That does not mean I just do nothing though! For this pregnancy I am using the DreamBelly Butter every day to help protect and nourish my skin as it stretches to accommodate my growing belly during my pregnancy. So far no stretchmarks. At the very least my skin smells and feels fabulous…at best it might prevent or at least reduce the stretchmarks I get this time around! What I really like about these butter is that it contains no petroleum products, parabens, artificial colors or artificial preservatives and has a mild fragrance of milk and honey. Combines the healing power of rosehip oil, aloe vera, honeysuckle and grapefruit, to protect and regenerate skin, and provide soothing relief from itchiness with no greasy feeling.
With this pregnancy I am trying one product that is completely new to me…BabyIt Perineal Massage and Postpartum Recovery Gel. If you have no idea what I am talking about that is completely okay because with my first two pregnancies I had no idea either. Perineal massage is an ancient practice of daily massage that aims to stretch and relax the birth canal before delivery and BabyIt is the first and only isotonic, paraben-free, and pH-balanced gel specifically designed to be used during perineal massage.
When performed in the last several weeks of pregnancy, studies show that perineal massage can decrease: 1) the incidence of trauma to perineal tissues; 2) the need for episiotomy, during childbirth, and 3) post partum pain during sex.
It is a clear gel like consistency and each box includes detailed instructions about how to perform perineal massage. I feel this is one of those products definitely worth a shot as it does not hurt to try! You can read more about this great product on their website.
If you know any pregnant moms out there these are all products to help pamper them during this huge event in their lives. Anything to make their lives easier is worth it. My pregnant self likes these items so far and I plan to use them throughout my pregnancy.
