R.L. Stine is a master of children’s horror and every Fall we love watching all the shows on television. It’s perfect for families because it’s not exactly so frightening that it will keep kids from going to sleep. It’s more “family horror” than it is scare-you-till-you-can’t-ever-turn-off-the-lights horror (but don’t tell your kids that!).
On September 4th, Shout! Factory released R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour: The Series Volume 1 & 2, just in time for Autumn! You can get a jump on the Halloween fun early!
I was given the opportunity to review both of the volumes and had so much fun with my teen! He’s been a R.L. Stine fan for years and they used to be some of the only books he would actually read. If you follow this blog you know my son is really big into Zombies and being born a few weeks before Halloween has only induced his love of horror movies. This was his introduction into the genre.
R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour series airs on The Hub Network on Saturdays between 5-5:30pm ET. I really recommend checking it out because this series is phenomenal for children’s horror!
Volume 1 includes the Episodes:
- Really You – Part 1
- Really You – Part 2
- The Dead Body
- A Creature Was Stirring
- Nightmare Inn
- The Red Dress
- Ghostly Stare
- The Walls
- Game Over
- Alien Candy
I received a copy of the films for the purpose of reviewing. Opinions are my own and/or my families and are not influenced by any form of compensation.
