I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Red Lobster. I received a gift card to facilitate my review promotional item as a thank-you for participating.
We haven’t gotten to go out as a family in awhile. With school having started and my husband’s new job, we have barely had any family time together. So it was really nice to get out of the house with the kids and have fun at Red Lobster during their Endless Shrimp promotion. Endless Shrimp is a limited time promotion and is really great if you have kids with hungry never ceasing appetites!
Judah hadn’t ever been to Red Lobster, so imagine his surprise when there were actual lobsters there. He was so excited! We had a 20 minute wait since we decided to go right at rush hour (a very busy time) and his enthusiasm really made the time fly.
While we were waiting we looked over the menu. Prior to going we had to check on allergy information because my son has a severe Tree Nut allergy and although he has had shrimp before, we weren’t entirely sure about other shell fish. Thankfully for those of us that have children with allergies, Red Lobster provides an Allergy Free menu. It covers everything from Gluten to Shell Fish. Yes, shell fish in a sea food restaurant!
When we sat down the waitress had the manager come over and talk with us. She was very polite in explaining how the oven and fryer worked and what foods were available that were not cooked with certain shell fish or had added tree nuts, etc. She made tot some delicious broiled chicken just to be safe and she did this without ever knowing I was a blogger or that I would be writing this. She did it because Red Lobster is very accommodating to people with allergies and want to make sure they have a good experience at their restaurants as well.
The Endless Shrimp Menu includes:
- New! Spicy Soy-Wasabi Grilled Shrimp
- Garlic Shrimp Scampi
- Hand Breaded Shrimp
- Shrimp Linguine Alfredo
This also includes a side of your choice and a salad (Caesar or House).
We were all going to get the Endless Shrimp, but then tot got the grilled chicken and then my teen saw the words BACON on the menu wrapped around shrimp and couldn’t help himself; so my husband and I enjoyed the Endless Shrimp! And my teen snuck shrimp off my plate.
It was really nice going with my family to dinner. Sometimes you have to get away from the house and the hustle and bustle of life (or just the dishes) and enjoy time together. My teen thanked me a hundred times for taking him to Red Lobster. He loves it there and is would eat buckets of shrimp if he could. It was extra special seeing how happy my tot was too and the fact that Red Lobster was so accommodating to him really warmed my heart.
I have to say that I could only make it through 3 dishes on the Endless Shrimp. I was so stuffed I couldn’t even make it to the 4th dish and never got to try the Shrimp Linguine Alfredo! But my favorite, absolute favorite, was their new dish – the Spicy Soy-Wasabi! I was actually kinda worried about it when I first read it since I wasn’t sure if it was going to burn my mouth off from spiciness, but it wasn’t spicy hot more than spicy sweet. It reminded me of the sauce they put on Unagi, if you happen to be a sushi lover then you would understand. It was just delicious!
If you love shrimp and you want to run away from your kitchen for a while and enjoy some time with your family, Red Lobster is the place to go. The ambiance is great, the food is wonderful and seeing a child’s face when they meet the lobsters is priceless.
